More than 600 archive photos which offer us a glance at the history of Bologna’s porticoes are online on the Bologna Fotografata portal. It is a collection of images of the city that have been catalogued and digitalised, assembled starting from the photographic collections of Cineteca di Bologna, which today numbers 2 million images.
The portal is easy to access through an open database that allows users to search for institutional or amateur photographs, professional snapshots and those of novices, of significant and everyday moments of life in the city. It is a veritable plunge into a city’s continuously changing identity, in which the historical photos will be placed side by side with contemporary ones, envisaging a daily inflow of digital photographs achieved today.
