The preview of the Bologna Portici Festival will be held on the 17th and 18th of May, with the key moment of the event being the unveiling of the very first UNESCO heritage plaque below the Palazzo d'Accursio portico.
The new website - The World Heritage Porticoes - is finally on line
A press conference was held this morning, 10th May 2024, in the presence of Councilors Annalisa Boni, Simone Borsari and Massimo Bugani, in addition to the site manager of the Porticoes of Bologna, Federica Legnani. The press conference presenting the internationalHeritage meets the future Conference, which will be held in the two branches of the Modernissimo Cinema and Salaborsa Library on 17th and 18th May, also includes the preview of the Bologna Portici Festival due to take place from 4th to 9th June 2024.
When all the Conference sessions have terminated on 18th May, the first plaque will be unveiled under the Palazzo d’Accursio, identifying one of the 12 sections of the serial property The Porticoes of Bologna. Later on, one or more plaques will be unveiled in each component, with the reasons why it has been added to the World Heritage UNESCO List and a QR Code. The latter provides access to specific content on the new website, which was also presented to the press this morning. It is a bilingual corporate website, in Italian and English, with insights on UNESCO, the assets that refer to the 12 components of the serial property, notification of events and information that have the Porticoes as their focus.
A section of the contents has been translated into Italian and international sign language.
