While the city had already enthusiastically welcomed the 2023 launch, the second edition of the Bologna Portici Festival – which ended on 9 June – definitively confirmed its success and the strength of its format: widespread, diverse and participatory, site-specific. The event, which was organised by the Municipality of Bologna, was held to mark the inclusion of the porticoes on the UNESCO World Heritage List. With a programme of more than 60 events, including concerts, shows, dance and theatre performances, meetings with authors, guided and itinerant tours, workshops for adults and children, and the great light festival of the portico of San Luca conceived by Italian singer-songwriter Cesare Cremonini, the six-day event, which ran from 4 to 9 June, attracted over 150,000 visitors and has already become a highly anticipated occurrence.’
