The Baraccano plaque unveiled

On September 26th, the plaque under the portico of Baraccano, near the headquarters of the Santo Stefano District, was unveiled in the presence of the Mayor, the President of the District Council Rosa Maria Amorevole and Federica Legnani, site manager of the Porticoes of Bologna.

The plaque displays in both Italian and English the motivation for the inscription of the Porticoes of Bologna on the World Heritage List. A QR code redirects to this official website which also hosts specific contents for deaf people, as indicated by the appropriate symbol. A short message in Braille has also been inserted, which informs blind or visually impaired people that they are near a UNESCO property. They too, by connecting via QR code to the website, will find contents available to the most common facilitated reading systems. In order to improve accessibility for people in wheelchairs, all the plaques were installed at an adequate distance from the ground.
