In 1825, the Marchesi family started a bookshop in the premises of what was previously the Antica Stamperia della Colomba under the portico of Santa Maria della Morte Hospital. Acquired in 1928 by Arnaldo Nanni, who equipped it with the characteristic “Parisian stalls” still under the portico today, it was mentioned by Pier Paolo Pasolini, who bought his first novels here as a teenager. The bookshop is still in business with special attention paid to antique book traders.
