On Novembre 18th the Control Room met at Palazzo d'Accursio to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for the definition, implementation, monitoring and updating of the management plan of the serial site “The Porticoes of Bologna”. By means of this document, all the signatories involved undertake to coordinate the activities of protection, maintenance and enhancement of the porticoes. The mayor Virginio Merola said he was satisfied with the work done so far and guaranteed the Municipality’s commitment to the care of the porticoes, whatever the outcome of the nomination. The inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List would be the best icing on the cake, but in any case the protection of the porticoes remains the primary goal.
